Do you offer a range of optional extras?

Yes we do. Basically, if a caravan can have it a horse float can have it!

Most optional extras are priced on our website, but if it isn’t listed, we will happily give you a customised quote.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes! Equiluxe offers a three-year warranty on chassis and some parts as follows:

Three (3) Years:

Structural on chassis and frame and flooring; It is the Purchaser’s responsibility to regularly inspect the seal around the rubber floor and any potential damage to the floor and tailgate. Although the flooring is of structural marine grade, a damaged seal can allow water to penetrate into the plywood and may limit the service life of the floor and tailgate. (This seal will however be inspected by Equiluxe as part of your normal service).

Axles

Suspension; subject to regular checking and re-greasing of grease nipples with intervals of no greater than six (6) months.

Break-away battery

Workmanship

* All other parts apart from those listed in below

One (1) Year:

Wheel bearings; wheel bearings must be checked and adjusted three (3) months after the delivery of the horse float. Failure to do so may result in a warranty claim being declined in the case of wheel bearings failures. Documentation will be required as proof for wheel bearing claims.

Equi-Assist reversing & internal cameras

Jockey wheels

Paint; The majority of horse floats are subject to much more extreme conditions than the average passenger vehicle. We highly recommend that your float be stored undercover and thoroughly cleaned and washed regularly as you would your vehicle.

Equiluxe original options (where fitted and as below):

Fridge

Microwave

Dry cell battery (including associated accessories)

Water pump (including associated accessories)

Electrically operated ramp motor

However, we service all of Australia with our quality designs. As a matter of fact if you’ve come to us looking for horse floats you’ve come to the right place because we can help you pick the right float for your needs.

How are the floats made?

The Chassis are welded from hot dipped galvanised steel sections, in order to protect them against rust and corrosion. We use Box Section RHS, not angle iron.

The frame and body sheeting (also constructed from galvanized steel), is then welded. Weld joins are touched up with PPG Zinc Rich galvanizing solution. This ensures the floats are rust resistant.

The floats are then prepped for spray painting in the paint booth, and we use automotive paint (oven baked “two –pack”).

How long does it take from ordering my float to taking delivery?

Generally between 3 and 4 months.

How much deposit is required?

A 50% deposit is required upon your order confirmation*  However we also offer a 100% easy finance with no deposit and a generous $300 cash back to spend in anyway you like – wether it be on yourself, your horse or maybe petrol for your car! What is the floor material?

The body flooring is hardwood plywood. Construction grade plywood is popular due to its incredible strength and predictability as a construction grade material. It is also resistant to rot. It is superior to natural hardwood due to it’s predictability vs. a natural fibre that has variations in fibre direction, strength etc.

Floor bracing is 530mm apart (box section), not angle line. We also add reinforcing where it’s needed most – where the horses stand.

The Ramp flooring material is a composite material that is 100% resistant to water and urine. It is also significantly lighter than traditional materials.

We expect to make DuraStruct available across the range for the body flooring in 2015.

What is the maximum Aggregate Trailer Mass available?

3500kg – 50mm axels on 12” hubs, 15” rims.

You need to consider that optional extras added to your float will increase its tare mass.

Also consider asking the following questions while shopping around for a new horse float for sale:

  • What is the warranty?
  • What is the background of the builder? Our builder is an Automotive Engineer. Many aspects of our designs are from the Automotive Industry (paint, rubber seals). Our builder regularly travels to other Countries (USA, Australia) to inspect local standards and design elements.
  • Is it possible for you to inspect the finish of the float?
  • Does the proprietor use the floats for their own horses?
  • If imported, do your research. The country of origin does not necessarily dictate the level of quality. Variations do occur from builder to builder, both from local builders and offshore. There is only one builder in China that has met our quality criteria, and this builder supplies a limited (3) number of brands in Australia, however Equiluxe has its own exclusive designs that we test and design ourselves here in Australia.
  • Do they offer any after-sales service?
  • What happens if there is an issue with your float?
  • Who do you turn to if you need help with the float?
  • What QA/QC inspections have occurred once the float has landed?
  • Who actually built the horse float for sale?
  • What is their background?
  • How are they viewed by other importers, who do know their business and market?
  • How does the builder treat his staff?
